Karina has a strong personal and professional commitment to developing non-profit organizations that empower women and under-represented communities, and she has worked for seven years to position women, children, and communities of color as collaborative stakeholders for social change. Karina joined WAGES in December 2008, bringing with her three years of experience in non-profit management and administration. Prior to WAGES, Karina worked at the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking in Los Angeles and, before that, she worked with East Bay organizations like the Ecology Center and the Food & Justice Coalition, contributing to the development of community-based programs that help low-income communities of color learn about and access nutritious food and advocate for a fair, just, and ecological food system. At WAGES, she leads in areas of finance and operations.
